Thanks for posting this information. It's convinced me never to attempt this conversion!
(By the way I've always been happy with the output of the conventional halogen lights on my 2002 S80).

Re: No boost or little boost, volvo s70 t5 850t5 1997
Besides the smoke test and a visual check of the big hoses to and from the intercooler, if you have even a small air compressor, even a 'fietspomp', you can put some air pressure into the turbo hoses/pipes and then listen for air leaks.

Re: Transmission slip on inclines/declines 2001 S80 T6
FWIW my 2002 T6's was starting to have difficulty shifting down on long uphil climbs (not particularly steep, just loooong) to the point I got a new filter and fluid to 'one day' attempt to address it. To my surprise however, the issue has gone away without me doing anything, after about 3 years. It ...

Re: Request for advice, timing belt quandry
So closing the loop on this one. Made it back to France two weeks ago and yesterday got to installing the original Volvo timing belt I bought in the US from FCP Euro and carried with me.
Before installing it I took some measurements to compare it to the Hutchinson belt Skandix sold me (in 2022). My ...

Re: HELP With Brakes.
If the wheel moves the speed sensor should pick that up, the brake working or not on that wheel doesn't matter. It sounds like either your wiring or the connector to the speed sensor got damaged.

Re: Lost compression on 4th cylinder
I would also encourage you to try and remedy the original engine with new valve stem seals and valves. Likely just need to remove the head, not the whole engine.
I recently addressed oil burning in my 1990 Ford with the V6 Cologne engine by fitting new valve stem seals for $20. 4 of the old ones had ...

Re: What have you hauled in your Volvo?
Lots of wagons and sedans, so I will weigh in with my 2001 C70 T5 convertible hauling experiences. We moved house several times, from Amsterdam to Geneva in 2010 and then from Geneva to a small town in France in 2016. Each time the C70 hauled impressive amounts of 'stuff', mostly laden in my very ...

Re: What preventive maintenance are you doing on your P80 850s and S/V70s?
When one of the wheel bearings on my 2002 S80, with 160K miles was starting to fail 2 years ago, I decided to replace all 4, and also all 4 on my 2001 C70, as that had also passed 160K miles. As it turns out (pun intended), all 4 appeared to be in great shape still. But I felt good about having done ...
