Re: S80 V8 | What to check when Buying?
I've bought the car. And indeed, the transmission is shifting really smooth when it's on temperature. (When it's cold it shifts a bit harder.) I know the previous owner. (He has a S60R now) So, I know the car' maintenance and parts are all original. Just one weird thing. I think I have an vacuum lea...

S80 V8 | What to check when Buying?
Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a Volvo S80 V8 2006 (MY2007).
The transmission shifts smoothly. They changed the valvebody. The first test drive it was a hard bang when shifting back from 5-4. Now it's gone.
What are the other things to check?
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: 850R AUT hard shifts
Alright, will change the solenoids after the holiday. :) http://transpartsdirect.com/aw50-4042le-shift-solenoid-6843783-p-11996.html http://transpartsdirect.com/aw50-4042le-shift-solenoid-5040310002n-p-11997.html http://transpartsdirect.com/aw50-4042le-lock-solenoid-6843784-p-11994.html I will chang...

Re: 850R AUT hard shifts
Tested the car today, it's shifting good from 3-4 but all other shifts are a bit jerky. (Also back from 4-3 is good. 3-2 is jerky and 2-1 is a bang.) Reverse is a hard bang. You can hear something clicking in the transmission when you put it in reverse. A half a second later it engages the gear with...

Re: 850R AUT hard shifts
To test it I disconnected the idle valve. It should go off right? It still ran if there was no problem....

Re: 850R AUT hard shifts
Just measured my old transmission. Found out the following: ___OLD TR____NEW TR S1 16.9 OHM___14.2 OHM S2 14.0 OHM___15.8 OHM LP 3.4 OHM____3.8 OHM My Old transmission gave me a S1 error code sometime. Reset the computer and it never came back. But as far as I can see that solenoid has to much resis...

Re: 850R AUT hard shifts
That could be possible. The resistance of S2 is to high. 15.8 ohms.
Maybe just buy new solenoids? But why I don't get a code for a defective solenoid?

Re: 850R AUT hard shifts
No, it does not vibrate anymore. It just shifts hard.
Found out that a connection on my TCM was a bit smugged. It appeard to be the TPS sensor wire. Cleaned that and it shifted a bit smoother. Still a hard bang in Reverse...
My idle is almost 1000 RPM. +- 980? Is that normal?
