Re: 98 S70 T5 Oil Leak on metal tube below exhaust manifold
Well this is the deal, I thought that having my hoses crossed on the turbo could have caused some type of internal engine pressure and that caused my RMS and camshaft seal to leak. Because I changed my PCV system less than 18 months ago I did not believe it was the issue. Well once I got the turbo h...

Re: 98 S70 T5 Oil Leak on metal tube below exhaust manifold
Thanks Vegas, you wouldn't happen to have another diagram showing where hose #20 hooks into. It's the only one that is unaccounted for. Your diagram showed me that I had hoses 17 and 19 hooked up incorrectly.

Re: 98 S70 T5 Oil Leak on metal tube below exhaust manifold
MIJ Do you happen to have a diagram in Vadis or some other source to where all the vacuum lines come from and hook up to the turbo. That camshaft seal fixed 1 leak but I'm getting a large amount of oil in the intake of my turbo. After the turbo rebuild I might have hooked the wrong hose/tube to the ...

Re: 98 S70 T5 Oil Leak on metal tube below exhaust manifold
That's were I went after my last post and man this thing was leaking like crazy. The old seal was hard and brittle. I just did the PCV flame trap thing a year and a couple of months ago. Do you think these things clog that fast?
Thanks for your help you were spot on!

Re: 98 S70 T5 Oil Leak on metal tube below exhaust manifold
Ruled out the the return line when I had it on the lift running for over an hour. I just rebuilt the turbo 2 weeks ago an replaced the green o-ring. Sorry I could not take pictures but the PDFs you sent were good enough. Back on subject now: I had oil coming from above the tranny and down to the fly...

98 S70 T5 Oil Leak on metal tube below exhaust manifold
I have a mysterious leak on the metal tube below the exhaust manifold, well I see a drop of oil rolling from the drivers side over to the passenger side along this tube that ties into a cooling line to the turbo. The metal tube is about 3/4 inches in diameter. I'm guessing oil is dripping down onto ...

Re: 1997 850 GLT turbo removal (hacksaw in hand)
Also, are you rebuilding this yourself or sending it off? It looks very tricky and if you hit the turbine wings with the rubber mallet you need to use in the process you'll ruin it and have to buy a new one, but it is doable if you're careful. Could you tell me how long it took you to start and fin...

Re: S70 T5 1998 Overheating
After replacing the broken thermostat housing and replacing the T-stat and new torx 40 screws for top and bottom housing. The overheating problem is fixed. The Waller t-stat did not open in boiling water and the new t-stat did. This was my simple problem that turned into a nightmare. The bottom hous...

Re: S70 T5 1998 Overheating
Added on problem. While attempting to remove stripped torx bolts on thermostat housing, I cracked the thermostat housing that attaches to the head. What exactly do I need to remove to get access to remove and replace this part of the housing instead of removing the head?
