and opposed to the earlier post: these trannies do NOT necessarily go out around 100k. my 96R has 200.000 miles on the dirst tranny (knock on wood) as well as my 95 10V with the same mileage. Where i live there are shops specialized in rebuilding axles. Cheaper and often better than aftermarket. Might be worth looking into?

In New Zealand new cars require a yearly check and once a vehicle is over 5 years old it is checked every 6 months - all details are on a database and a sticker is then placed on the windscreen when it is next due.
