Re: Found a V70 with a manual at the junkyard...swap?
Traffic here makes a manual undesirable. Sitting on the freeway in gridlock working that clutch , ugh!

Re: (245)
I think the governments obsession by pouring out salt on the roads greatly contributed to the demise of a lot of cars in Sweden. In the very northern parts it was pointless due to the (then) absurd amounts of snow. They lived a longer life. It’s funny here in CA seeing old cars still rolling around ...

Found this picture the other day. Mom’s wagon in the background. There were rust holes your fist could fit through. If I remember correctly the sheet metal was made and ”rust protected” in Brazil. Think the production year was 1979. By looking at me I would say the car was 6-7 yo. Jeez.

Relays can fail intermittently. If you suspect it being bad just buy a new one.

Re: Check Air Box Temperature Control Flap
That’s how it’s supposed to work yes. It seems to fail often and does so in the open position. I glued mine shut, lives in CA so it’s really not needed here. Intake air temp dropped and car got better power and ran much better overall. Especially in the summer time.

Re: Engine rattle
Can’t hear anything else than a motor running
EDIT: maybe something. Get under there and bend/pull on everything you can see. Most common is loose heat shields. Give the cat some got bangs with a mallet too.

Re: Rear Intake Camshaft Seal 9443310 Replacement, Is there a write up?
Guess its the same procedure as most of the times to get the seal itself out. Drill a small hole, insert screw that you can pull on and done. Don’t have to tell you to be VERY careful though so you dont damage the seal surfaces. Doing this on the RMS is a bit stressful to say the least

Re: Purchased 97 850 GLT and it's scary fast....tuned ECU?
I had a 99 T5 years ago. It was pretty quick too even though it was actually a GLT. pep boys had replaced the engine for the PO and didn't know of or didn’t care what engine they put in it. Took forever to figure out why the fuel trims was so off. Finally looked closer and realized it was a glt. New...
