Re: Slight hesitation upon initial acceleration 2003 V70
That does not sound correct. That idle speed is too high. My Haynes manual says that idle speed should be 850. That's right where it is...Am I missing something? You seem to think that's too high? Have you checked fuel trims? How would I check the trims? I put a gauge on the shraeder valve and it r...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Trying to get some better mpg I mounted a new O2 sensor. I have no idea when it was last changed. I checked with an OBD2 reader and the new sensor seems to flip/switch voltage faster. I'll get back with results in a few days. 20201105_141729.jpg 20201105_140122.jpg 20201105_142943.jpg So after like...

Re: Brake caliper binding/sticking after hard braking
Kallekula- I would agree since all for brake lines run separately from there. From the master the fronts run together and the rear run together to the abs block. I have been thinking something is clogged in the return port. I dont know very much about how that all works but from my research it seem...

Wow, BIG drop in IAT! That's an important thing to check on NA cars. Redid my negative cable on the R the other day. The old one wasn't too bad, but the ends were starting to fray in the lugs and they were a little corroded. Went with 4ga for the main cable to the transmission and 6ga to the chassi...

Noted that my preheat system wasn"t working properly. It was only sucking hot air through the preheat hose. On the freeway my IAT was 70 degrees C. After this ghettofix it dropped to 32 C. Gonna be interesting to see if my mpg will increase.

That return pipe has an oring on it. Easy to replace. Try cleaning the engine like previously suggested. Its hard to see where it leaks from. There are slso cheap dye kitsbyou can buybto help u see where it leaks using a uv light.
Good luck!

Sure why not. Drilled rotors cools better but is prone to crack if you drive you car like a race car. Race cars usually just have slotted rotors for that reason.

In that position it pulls air from the outside. If you press the recirculation button that flap will close.
Could be a bad damper motor. I think that specific motor isnt too hard to replace. Also check that the lever that pulls on the door hasnt come off.

You have it right, the rear O2 does not control any engine parameters. One way to deal with this would be to delete the rear O2 in TunerPro on a tuned ECU, FWIW. Ok, that's good. I wonder if I got the rear sensor out of the exhaust stream (using an anti-fouler) the CEL would go out. Yes it will but...

Re: Excess Gas consumption
You guys are running some seriously low pressures. 2,8 bars/41 psi is my regular pressure. I bump it another .1 bars for long highway trips. 205/55-16 or 195/60-16. Any lower and the car feels way too squishy for my taste. So really I'm running Volvo's recommended highway+high load pressure all the...

Nah hog rings are faster. Also, they will never break.bmdubya1198 wrote: βSun Nov 24, 2019 8:03 am I've never messed with the hog rings, but with the angles you need to get at with the inner rods I think the zip ties are easier than trying to get the pliers in there.
But the outside ones should be easy to get at with hog rings.

You can swap in 1996-1998 skins to the 1999-2000 electronically fired seatair bags just fine You can attach with zip ties rather than hog rings Yes, zip ties are much easier than hog rings when installing the seat covers. I've done this multiple times, nobody will know the difference! Why are zip t...

Move injector, plug to another cylinder? Did you do a compression test? Might be an exhaust valve not sealing properly?

There's a shortcut called "New Posts", it is easy peasy lemon squeeze to find this post. I don't know why no one responds.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
$46 isn't TOO awful I guess, but a lot for a mandatory inspection. Up to $80 though? DAMN! That's just one more reason I'd never live in CA! Most Miata drivers only have to pay 70% of that $21 for safety plus emissions in nYS I'll wear a skirt next time  I only pay about 50% of that anyway, I ...

Re: AC Delete 99 S70 N/A - (Seized Compressor) Topic is solved
The path of least resistance in my mind is to grab a replacement compressor from a pick-n-pull. Hooking the lines back up will help to keep the crap out of them. If it was just the clutch bearing that seized up and the compressor didn't grenade internally then it is really easy to pull a good vacuu...

I replaced my non-existent roof moldings with a pair that I picked up from the boneyard. Before I did that they were cleaned with alcohol and given two coats of Plasti-Dip. I am quite pleased with the result this time π Both my 03 S80 T6 and 08 C30 T5 do not have those? The 03 however seems like it...
