No brakes
2004 XC90 2.5 liter. Someone cut in front of me and slammed on her brakes, which made me slam on my brakes. Ever since then my brakes have been getting worse and worse, to the point where there isn't any braking power at all and I can't drive it. I checked for codes and it said the 2 sensors on the ...

Re: Timing Issue
I figured it out. My VVT's don't seem to be spring loaded, or if they are the springs aren't working very well! But that wasn't the issue, what was going on is that there will always be some slack in the belt between the intake cam and the crank shaft. No matter how tight I thought it was, when I ...

Timing Issue
I am having a heck of a time with my timing belt and exhaust VVT replacement. I thought I did everything right, had the cams locked, everything was lined up perfect, started it and it ran bad. Had very little power and the engine was sputtering. Shut it off, checked the codes and the exhaust cam ...

Re: Old vs new VVT
Yeah it was leaking when I got it above 3,000 RPMs, which is why I suspected the VVT and not the cam seal. But I did replace the exhaust cam seal when I was in there, even though it looked fine. Oddly enough, the belt with 100k miles on it looked brand new.

Old vs new VVT
I made a video for comparison purposes of the in and out play of an old (220k milea) VVT vs a new one.

New style timing tensioner adjustment
I have an 04 that has the newer style timing belt tensioner. I saw somewhere that said these are adjusted differently, one person said you rotate the allen wrench the opposite direction of the older style, but I can't find a single video that shows how to adjust these. Can someone help me out as I ...

Exhaust cam position sensor?
Hi, I need to change the timing belt and exhaust VVT on my 04 xc90. I bought the cam locking tool, and read that the dual VVT engines have 2 cam position sensors which need removed to install the tool. I can see the intake one but on the exhaust side all I see is the upper engine mount. Do I need to ...

Steering issue
I have an 03 XC70. What it does is once you get the steering wheel past a certain point, right or left, it pulls the wheel over the whole way and you can hear the tires dragging like they would if it was in 4wd and trying to make a sharp turn. Any ideas what could cause such a thing?

Seat disassembly
I bought an 04 with black leather, it seems like all the black leather front seat bottoms have split seams. I went to a local u pull it and found 2 seat bottoms that weren't split. They were super easy to remove, just held on by clips that ran around the outer edge. Then I go to remove the bad seat ...

Re: Help identifying odd noise.
I checked under the hood, and yes the noise is coming from the belt area (not sure if it's the timing belt or the accessory belt). The car has 190,000 miles and the timing belt was replaced around 100,000 miles, but I didn't own it then and don't know what all they replaced.
