Re: Considering buying a 2.5T XC90
I have been thrilled with my 04 XC90. Upgraded from an 850 wagon, which was becoming hard to get in and out of! The XC90 was found with a bad motor (teenager + spring break + no oil = cheap price!) Original sticker in car was 44K, I have slightly over 3K in it! 125,000 miles! about 60,000 miles on t...

Re: Cheep repair manual for real?
For that money you can get a one year ALLDATA subscription. I think a 5 year is only 44 bucks! I've never been disappointed with ALLDATA I haven't tried downloading to a disc, or paper, but it might could be done. If nothing else, a camera or a pencil can "download it" from the computer! h...

Re: 2004 2.5T AWD XC90 Muffler Replacement
Thanks guys for the info. MRJEL: I was looking at it earlier but it says only for FWD. Someone else had mentioned it would be different for the AWD, it won't fit because of the AWD system. can someone confirm this? Thanks It would fit mine which is AWD! The VOLVO site I use only offers one, doesn't...

Rockauto is a decent place to look first! $150 for a NEW 160 amp alternator convinced me!

Re: 2004 XC90 Replacement keys
Yeah, $260 is about what the dealer quoted me for a chipped key. Around $350 for the fancy remote gizmo thingy.

2004 XC90 Replacement keys
I fear the answer but I have to ask anyway.
My used XC90 only had the valet key with it when I purchased it. Are there ANY alternatives to a replacement key/remote unit that will not require a second mortgage on my house?

Re: 2004 XC90 New engine, no throttle
Umm,............no..........,umm,....I screwed up! To avoid damaging them in the swap, and gain a wee bit more room, I removed them to keep them nice and safe. I just didn't get them back seated correctly! Took for a drive tonight about 70 miles or so. Went to the car wash, got the $12.00 job and us...

Re: 2004 XC90 New engine, no throttle
Yep! BUT.....If it stays in that position for 40 seconds, the CEL lights and stays lit. If I turn off and then back, it is no longer lit!precopster wrote:Are you saying that if you place the key in PosII without starting the engine that the CEL lamp is not lit?

Re: 2004 XC90 New engine, no throttle
OK, Still no progress, but I do have some more info. While doing the key position II thing, I noticed after about 40 seconds or so the CEL came on. It is not illuminating when I turn on ignition, try to start, or when the engine shuts down. Does it appear there is an ECM communication problem somewh...
