Brake light switch
In the last 2 weeks the brake lights keep sticking on. Put some lubricant on the white plunger coming out of brake switch -- not any good. Noticed that the brake pedal is not coming up all the way -- maybe 1/16 inch. Seems that a bushing where the pedal pivots might be worn. Anyone ever have this pr...

sr7145 radio issues
The radio on my 1989 760 turbo wagon appears to be working fine. However when I connect the 6-pin connector the rear speakers create a loud repeating sound -- like a loud machine gun. The front door speakers do not appear to work -- I only get sound through the 2 dash speakers, no other. The fader i...

1989 760 Turbo Wagon -- Radio Wiring Diagram
Good Day, I am installing a new radio in my 1989 760 Turbo Wagon, but the wiring connector contains wires which are not on any of the 'standard' Volvo radio wiring diagrams. Cannot seem to find anything on the web, so I come here for your wisdom. The green, red/grey, red/white and tan/black are not ...

2001 XC Tailgate Problem
The opener latch on the tailgate of my 2001 XC no longer works. I suspect that there is something wrong with the lock mechanism because it does not work when I unlock all the doors. Unlike my previous older Volvo wagons, this car has no emergency handle to open the tailgate. Any suggestions or guide...

Re: 2001 XC Alarm Module
Bought new module, installed it, and all works just fine. Thanks for the advice through various threads.
I did take the old one apart -- the battery had leaked, and corroded one of the wires such that it was connecting intermittently. Cheers!

2001 XC Alarm Module
Lots of great reading in this site -- but I just want to be sure of something before buying a replacement part. Recently my car has been setting off the alarm -- and a really wimpy, feeble siren noise comes from the car when the alarm is triggered and the turn signal lights flash -- and nothing is n...

Re: Transmission Surging: 2001 XC70
Thanks for the dialogue. I think the 'red herring' was the last comment about the transmission slamming from 2nd to 1st only when the transmission is really hot, and there has been a lot of stop and go in the city. But the 'real' problem for me is the surging of the car after the transmission module...

Transmission Surging: 2001 XC70
I recently had the 'auto stop' turned off on my 2001 XC -- has 200,000km. After this program change whenever I ride along under a neutral to light throttle, the car surges up a couple of hundred rpm, then back again. It does this in both gear 4 and 5 -- I check by taking it out of drive and into man...
