guys, need some help troubleshooting evap leak. googling around said it could be the J hose.. where is this located on s70? is there a diagram where the valves or solonoids, hoses are located? should i just replace them all? or do i need to bring this into the shop to do a smoke test since i dont ha...

i just replaced mine on my s70....

i used a mity vac sucked out 2 quarts... put in 2quarts of valvoline max life red bottle...drive it 50 miles. did this 7x...

i plan to do replace 4qt next year good way to replenish additive pack in the oil.

she runs great!!!....

check the cap... see if the seal is okay... or if cap is cracked...

do the glove test on the oil cap...

start the car with radiator overflow uncapped... make sure no bubbles are comming up...during the start... to make sure u dont have micro crack on the head.

when doing my headgasket
i dropped the oil before i started my car...
to get rid of any contaminents that may have dropped in...

drove it an easy 100 miles low boot... changed the oil and filter again...

all strange smoke, smells disappeared after 200 miles..

I was at Volvo dealer the other day. The new Volvo are so computerized LCD tach. You can't even change the tranny oil without hooking up laptop to it.

I hope others will chime in on how hard is it to DIY the new Volvos.

hey there... i had a similar issue... for me i had a massive leak after my FMIC..which would cause throttle ocillations.. massive loss of power...and ETS light to turn on... so check all your piping before ETM.... i also had a bad ETM prior to that... i went with xemodex... awesome service... good q...

did you check the fuel filter?

do a compression test?

if its fuel pressure... turn the key.. but dont the start the car... wait 3 min... then turn the key start the car...

once they get your vin.. they will program to your car ...works great and good warranty
