I’ve tried 3 different ways of setting the vvt hub (Vida, one I found on MVS, and another way described on Swedespeed). I’m thinking that the hub may be messed up so I’m installing a new vvt hub today.

I changed it when I first got the car at 94k, I don’t know if it was original. It’s 5 years later and the car has 235k. I’m replacing cam seals, tb, and wp, so I’m throwing a new serpentine on in the process. It’s not showing any cracks, but I figured it is cheap insurance.

Question for those much more experienced than I with setting timing belts on a 99 2.4 LPT w/ VVT. I needed to replace cam seals so did the whole job with timing belt and water pump. I set the VVT hub as per Vida- bring outer ring to CW limit, align with mark 1 cog before the mark, tighten to 88 ft/l...

All fixed! I just went back out there and sure enough the 10 pin connector just didn't come up with the others. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, I did try reconnecting everything as well as having it just sit in the hole versus pushed in place.

I haven't tried using the amp with the other HU, I can switch it out.
