'93 240 - engine cranks but no start
Hi, I have a '93 240 that is giving me troubles. When I turn the key the engine cranks like it wants to start but doesn't. After a few attempts the engine will start to shake while it's cranking. The last time something similar happened a shop said it was a vacuum problem and fixed the issue. The ca...

Re: Steering, suspension help - Volvo 240
Hi, I started looking for a used rack & pinion to replace the one in my '93 240 sedan and may have found something that will work. Could anybody tell me if a rack and pinion in a 1992 Volvo 240 wagon is the same as that in the '93 240 sedan? Otherwise, does anybody have any advice on where to ge...

Re: Wiper linkage - 1993 Volvo 240
I'll give it a go. That sure sounds easier than taking apart the dashboard!:-) Thanks for the help!

Re: Wiper linkage - 1993 Volvo 240
The driver side wiper reaches out past the windshield and gets stuck on return. The passenger side wiper seems to work ok, but with the driver side wiper out of wack, the two have gotten tangled. The motor works, they operate, but they are mis-timed.

Wiper linkage - 1993 Volvo 240
I'm pretty sure my the wiper linkage needs replacing - or at least fixing. I'm guessing I have to go through the dashboard to get at it. Is this fix a pain or very time consuming? I'm also guessing there are no easy solutions, but if anyone has something I'd love to hear it!:-)

Re: 1993 Volvo 240 - tie rod
I thought I'd be ok doing something like that, but haven't worked on the steering before and wanted to make sure.
I'm leaking power steering fluid from somewhere, but not sure where yet. Everything else seems ok.
Thank you for the help!

1993 Volvo 240 - tie rod
Hi, I need to replace a tie rod on my 1993 240. In the Bentley manual it speaks of needing a special tool that will enable me to pull the old tie rod off without damaging anything in the process. My question is, is this tool really necessary? Does anybody have a trick they've used to replace the tie...

Steering, suspension help - Volvo 240
Hello, I have a 1993 Volvo 240. I recently had it looked over by a Volvo mechanic who gave me a laundry list of things that need fixing. The most intimidating to me is the rack and pinion, and steering knuckle, as I've never worked on the steering/suspension before but have done a lot of other repai...

Re: revving idle
Since this is the first time I've done all this I kind of figured I'd have to recheck the timing, but it's cold here and I've been trying to avoid it.
I did check both socket 2 and socket 6. Think I might reset it, see if it comes on again and if it reads anything this time.
Cheers.
