06 XC70 car and parts ( SFO)
Needs a better home than mine! Car has enough going on it is a mechanics special one could say. All in the engine. But it did just pass smog so can roll for two years. I'm in Burlingame Ca. 203k on car. 30k on remanufactured transmission. 50k or so left on tires.

Re: '06 XC70 compression issue
No difference with the wet test. So, head gasket or valves. Periodic noise (if you listen for it) and oil consumption makes me think valves.

'06 XC70 compression issue
Interested in your insight as to what the most likely problem is? Other than the MAF of course. Which I seem to consistently continue to purchase bad ones. I went ahead and paid for a big diagnostic. Mechanic swapped out my new Bosch MAF with an old, known, good one and it seems to have solved the ...

Re: '06 XC70 air intake tube
as I understand all Volvos have a turbo? These just aren't listed as having one. Not sure why though.abscate wrote: 13 Dec 2019, 10:45 Your 2006 XC is a turbo car, though.
The PCV system is a bit of bear to get to and get cleanly attached on a turbo car.

Re: '06 XC70 air intake tube
I have the intake tube off!! That back clamp on the turbo (not a turbo lol) was a bit tough to get to. Tomorrow I put the new one on and I can where a few vacuum leaks were including where the sensor (?) attaches to the tube. I need to get a couple new clamps and put it back together tomorrow.

Is your Check Engine Light on?
If so retrieve the codes, write 'em down THEN erase them to clear the light.
What happened with the original hose?
Replace it with one that matches the old one.
Leave no small hose or connection unattached.
Yes sir. I'm at this point after all that. Even took ...
