Buying a 240 DL wagon

Hello all. I bought a 96 850 turbo sedan a couple years ago and this site was vital to turning this car into my primary car. I have another question for you all. I have been given the opportunity to purchase a 90 240 DL wagon from the original owner with only 32000 miles on the clock. He has all of ...

My Karylns lasted all of 150 miles. Replaced with OEM links and now 2.5k miles no noise from the front.

Re: 850 T-5R problem after problem, losing faith rapidly

I'd second what the others have mentioned and I think I'd start by checking and cleaning all possible grounds ensuring good contact. Then do the same to the hot leads. Revving the engine and then dying. Perhaps during the rev some contact is being lost resulting in the stall. Bad contacts both negat...

Re: Bad coolant leak

I just replaced all the coolant hoses and completely agree with erickv11. That lower turbo hose can be a bear to remove and since you pretty much have to strip the left side of the engine to get access, if it's in the budget I'd replace the heater hoses also. Classic case of WIIT. WHile I'm in there...

Re: POLL: P80 - How much do you spend on parts per year?

I put down the 3k plus since I just completed a very comprehensive stage 0 using all blue box parts. Hopefully this coming year the parts costs should come way down. My jag is screaming for some attention and I do miss driving it often.

Re: Noisy Ignition Coil

I replaced the cap, rotor, wires and coil as part of my stage 0. I can very distinctly hear the coil firing. I've noticed no arching or sparking. I can also hear the the injectors clicking when I move my melon over the intake.

Re: Input on possible blown headgasket??

Are you saying you've blown 3 headgaskets since early February? If so, I'd stop the 130+ runs until you complete a stage 0.

Scanners

Ok gent, I've read 100's of threads on scanners.

If I buy a MaxiDiag Elite 802 for about $200 am I buying what I need to diagnose and turn off the CE lights on a 96 850? I'm a tool junkie so the price dose not scare me off.

Re: Help on O2 sensor

Thanks for the reply Misha. Code pulled was P0133. Doing some reading I'm thinking a vacuum or exhaust leak. It appears the new front O2 sensor is a direct fit with no splicing. Will put the smoker on the intake side but I do think it it is an exhaust leak since the car has that exhaust leak sound. ...

Re: Help on O2 sensor

Well this is disappointing. 50 miles from home the CE lights up. Pull into Advance and they pull the same code as yesterday. Front O2 sensor slow to respond. Going to try and figure out getting a warranty repair near my home. Now I'm not so sure a Bosch piece was fitted and they subbed an aftermarke...
