Make sure whatever shop you may choose to do the welding feels comfortable with it and believes it is the right one - perhaps the one with the inspector if you can swing it. I did not look up engines but odds are that may be the right one for your application. Much appreciated! & yea its a 2.4L...

If the sell it as CA legal then they have hD it ' certified ' by CARB and it should pass. It would be best to have someone from CA who has used it confirm they have passed smog. $150 is much nicer that $1200!! I know right! Definitely not worth paying $1200 for a damn catalytic converter!
