Re: 850 power antena

I spent endless hours trying to get the antenna on my 850 working right, so I understand your agony here. In the end I just bought a $60 aftermarket antenna on eBay and it worked for years. Purists will scoff but it worked fine and I was able tho spend my time fixing my flame trap instead.

Re: Alternative exhaust manifold studs and nuts

In all seriousness, +1 for stainless with these electroplated copper nuts. They torque down just fine, and stay put but taking them apart is much easier:

Re: Alternative exhaust manifold studs and nuts

May I present to you the ARP head stud kit. The hip kids making Subarus into 1000hp rally dragsters use them and they will absolutely never fail you. Expensive you say? Well good lord yes, but who cares, really?

Re: 850 Heater Core PSA: potential for catastrophic coolant loss

Well this is terrible isn’t it? I was much more interested in seeing the grenaded heater core than anything, and it was just a pedestrian leak that turned into a very large leak and left us none the wiser.

What’s broken already? 2018 - 2021 V90 T6 CC

Hello Gentlemen (Ladies?),

So for a number of years I have been stationed in the 850 / S70 / V70 forum, as well as the 2014+ XC90 forum. I come to you now because I am Volvo-less and shopping for a V90 CC for my daughter and I to share. (My other ride is an Outback, nice cars you should try one ...

Re: A $100 '99 V70 GLT

At $100, that's a steal. Very pretty wagon. Some stuff you need:

New head gasket
New head bolts - they are one time use
Anaerobic sealand to seal up clamshell cover
Special tool kit used to align cams and wind down clamshell. (eBay)
Water pump
Timing belt
Timing belt tensioner

You may be able to ...

Re: 99 S70 GLT Engine B5254T - main vacuum line

But yes, it's a one way valve. Volvos with turbos have them for reasons noted above. Either replace that line with the exact Volvo part or take a stroll down to your nearest auto parts store and they'll have boxes of them, you can just cut the bad one out, put a new one in, in the correct ...

Toni!

Hang in there! I am also a cancer fighter. These (it's a pair) cables are discontinued, but I found a set at Pelican Parts in Harbor City, CA. They have a website, here's a link to the exact part on their online store.

Re: V70 1999 I was driving along and the car shuts off. Instruments on the dash went bananas. Now have a p1618 code.

So lots of good answers here, but the very first thing I'd do is check the fat black negative cable from the battery to the body. There's a bolt there that holds the cable to the body on the inside of the fender, near the battery. Take it out, examine judiciously. Is it shiny & new, or is the body ...
