Had something similar a while back. Ended up my tank was FILTHY dirty.
Dropping it to clean is a MASSIVE undertaking.
Have heard of ppl supposedly positioning strong magnets to help keep debris from circulating. Plausible I guess, but don’t know if i believe it.

Re: Crank Case Pressure Test on ‘06 XC90
Forgot to mention that there are no symptoms, car was in for something else and decided to have them do a “general” check…

Crank Case Pressure Test on ‘06 XC90
Took car to a shop to get looked at… Crank case pressure test supposedly came back as: -4, -3, +.6 KPA Seems like I replaced the PCV system yesterday - did myself btw, but looking at the paperwork it was 40k miles ago. Came home and ran glove test = strong suction. How do you get a positive outlier,...

'06 XC90 Is there a way to clean the gas tank without dropping it?
'06 XC90 2.5T AWD About to replace the fuel pump, send unit, etc. When I'm doing that job, does anyone have any thoughts how I could clean the tank? Maybe it's not even really possible without dropping it? Car has a lot miles and I suspect the tank is filthy. Figured I could manually siphon out what...

2 separate questions - fuel tank & climate control unit
I want to clean my tank but don't want to drop it because I understand I would have to remove the rear axle to do so? Assuming that is correct, in your opinion, is it doable to siphon the tank once basically empty through the fuel pump access and then basically "vacuum" it out and/or use s...

Re: What do you think - is it the fuel pump, PEM or FPS?
So I spent the $70 and picked up a new Bosch FPS. Previously, the CEL (ECM-2900 error) had been coming back on immediately after being cleared. After replacing the FPS and taking it for a spirited drive tonight, no CEL. Planning on loading her up with family and going for a 1200 mile round trip over...

Re: What do you think - is it the fuel pump, PEM or FPS?
Well, everything has been fine with a lot of driving and kinda still is except today the CEL came on. Vida says it’s ECM-2900 - fuel pressure faulty signal. There is no noticeable performance issues at all with the car - at least yet… I did the quick fuel pump check in Vida and it seems OK? I attach...

Success!
I got a used PEM for pretty cheap off eBay, installed it and went for an almost 200 mile drive with zero issues.
Thank you everyone!

Re: What do you think - is it the fuel pump, PEM or FPS?
I pulled out the PEM - it’s a Ford part?? The part number 30769225 matches what I googled for Volvo but I have a hard time believing this is the factory installed PEM?? Am I missing something? I have pretty meticulous service records and no mention of the PEM ever being replaced or relocated. Any th...
