Re: rear wheel noise and hesitation
Inspect rear brake pad thickness and parking brake shoes and report back. I will do that this weekend. Today I made a discovery, if I parked somewhere and used my parking brake, I would hear the rotational noise, which eventually goes away. But when I parked in flat areas, and didn't use the parkin...

rear wheel noise and hesitation
Howdy folks I have an '81 Volvo 245 that has an issue that just crept up. I'm hearing a rotational noise that happens while I'm driving, seems like its from the back of the car. Happens in neutral while coasting as well as in gear. Also while I'm driving I can feel the car being held back a bit, it ...

Re: How to remove a single wire from connector?
I'm going over some things because my idle is low/lumpy. Never stalls but isn't very smooth. Drives on the road just fine, only an issue at idle. I've been going over all the basics and have been wanting to "reset" base idle according to the book once I do a few more things. So far all I'v...

Re: How to remove a single wire from connector?
I thought it might be a tool thing of some sort. However, the wire/connector in my car is a much older style. Its literally a holder for the types of wires/connectors you might see anywhere around a car: a wire ends in a small fitting that slides over another "spade" like fitting. In this ...

How to remove a single wire from connector?
Folks- I'm chasing down some things on my '81 245 with K Jet. I have downloaded a copy of the Green book and have gone through the system, now I'm trying to dial in the idle. It says I should disconnect a certain wire from the plastic multi connector for the ECU which is in the passenger side comp. ...

Re: 1981 Volvo high idle
So a few pics to show what kind of setup is going on here. I can't figure out why I can't locate this black plastic knobbed "idle adjustment screw" that I've heard mention of and the Haynes manual shows. I can't locate it. Also can't figure out why it seems the throttle isn't stopping at t...

Re: Belt change K jet
Just to clarify I think the belt I need to get off to replace the 2 alternator belts is the AC belt.
I don't see where I can loosen the AC. I must be missing something. Also, I was just thinking, since my AC is no longer functioning do I even need to have a belt there?
thanks,
Klook

Belt change K jet
Hi, I'm diagnosing a different issue on my '81 245 with K Jet, but noticed today that one of my belts was twisted and another was delaminating.....this makes me ticked a little, a few months back I had the car in for some other repairs and they said "the belts are loose, we'll tighten them"...
