Re: Favorite Brake pad?

One last brake pad change out question. I did look at a couple of online video's for our P2"s and specifically the rear pads. Both video's the guy was removing the caliper. I thought that was not necessary for a simple pad replacement. is this true? The caliper needs removal to replace the pads. Yo...

Re: Exhaust replacement on 2007 XC70 Topic is solved

Is there any reason that the above mentioned catalytic converters for a '03-'07 XC70 would not fit my '02 V70 XC? Is there an actual physical difference, or is it just because of the model change from V70 XC to the XC70? Thanks in advance, Shawn I've never owned the earlier P2 models so I don't kno...

Re: Tensioner making noise

I did the timing belt kit and water pump replacement last winter. As mentioned FCPEURO makes a great tutorial video. https://youtu.be/IK_zH8g8Fow I installed the OEM Aisin Water Pump kit. I used a tab of silicone grease to hold the thin WP gasket onto the block. Here's a nice video of how to flush a...

Re: PCV R&R - Losing the battle to the dreaded hidden Intake bolt

Interesting, I was just filming something with this today. The non turbo intake manifold along with the later thermostat housing (2003-on) are the worst of all S60 engines when it comes to this lower bolt. This is the configuration I have on my car. Indeed, I reached mine using one long and one sho...

Re: Wouldn't pass State Inspection

Changing rear brake pads is exceedingly simple. Drive out two pins with a drift, remove pin retaining clip in the process, wiggle out old pads. Compress piston with a big pair of channel locks or large c clamp. Wiggle in new pads and drive in new pins with clip. Of course, car is on jackstands with...

Re: DEM-0001 AWD Not Working

Yellow will be there forever, until cleared. I suspected that but wasn't sure until you mentioned it. I always get the code CCM-DD12 regarding front drivers seat no heat. It never goes away unless I clear the codes then it re-appears after next start. It could be a blown fuse under the glove box bu...

Re: DEM-0001 AWD Not Working

When I hooked up VIDA yesterday I got the DEM-0007 code. I cleared the code then drove her for a mile. The AWD worked and the code never returned. Wouldn't this code clear itself after I fixed the issue when firmly inserting the pump harness into the DEM? It might. When the code becomes inactive, V...

Re: Thoughts on this leak? with photo!

It appears ATF is coming from above the axle seal? If it is I would check the TC for leaks.

On AWD P2s the passenger axle goes via the bevel gear and rarely ever leaks from that tiny axle seal.

Re: Wouldn't pass State Inspection

The labor cost of pressing in new bushings into the original control arms will be high. If you're not doing the labor yourself then purchase new control arms to save money. Right lower quality: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-suspension-control-arm-right-s60-v70-meyle-30635230 Left lower qual...

DEM-0007 randomly appears

DEM-0007 is still randomly appearing at times but AWD still works even if I don't clear the DTC. I can feel the AWD engaging during acceleration or driving uphill. Also getting oil pressure readings on VIDA when the DEM-0007 appears. I feel it's a bad sensor terminal connection within the DEM. I'm g...
