Happy Holidays all.......

I have been lurking around recently and would like to comment on the camber/strut threads. I am living in Sweden and own a 98 V70....and yes there are a few Volvos around here which makes it easy to find parts and backyard knowledge. I replaced the entire front end with a 60mm drop in the front and a 40mm in the back. The factory play in the top bolt on the knuckle was ok on the drivers side and way off (-) on the pass side. The locals just do the following.....hog out the strut open on the strut eyeball it and bolt it back together and then get it aligned. I elongated the holes till I could touch the knuckle to the strut and back off a little and cranked it down. The alignment shop did the toe and didn't have to touch camber cause it was .05+ and .08+. Its been a month or so since the adjustment and alignment and have had no issues to date, the new winter tires are not wearing unusually and the car handles awesome in dry and snow conditions. I must replace the rear suspension components as they where frozen and get it realigned. That will tell me more on the backyard tweak.

Some thoughts.....the lowering kit I got here was odd....the springs in the strut assembly where actually a tad loose once put together with all new components. Call the shop and get thats the way it is, it will be fine. Once the car is on the ground it'll be fine and won't rattle, it doesn't. I have no creaking or growning.....even over all the speed bumps they have all over. If anything hits the fan I will post......
