what sealant for B5244SG2 camshaft cover ?

Post by bawheid »

I have the engine and gearbox out of my s60, replacing flywheel/clutch etc, also had a burnt valve so doing all repairs at the one time, waiting on the correct clutch coming (wrong one came :x )

anyway, all being well, the correct clutch will be here on Monday, so will get back to work on it

when i was stripping it, i seen that its not a normal instant gasket type sealer between the head and cam cover, where can i get the sealer that is needed, I am sure i can get it from volvo but is there anything else out there that i can purchase in the local motor factors for doing the same job ?

also, anyone got any info on the vvt carry on when setting it all back up again ?

thanks, its my first post on here, when i get the car built up and driving, i'll get some pics up

What I got from the Swedish Engineering guys here in the US is elring Curil K2,Elring N0. 532.215. Be sure to use the cam tool to tighten down the cam cover before you bolt everything down.

I just did a clutch on a 2002 V70 t5. I ordered a kit from Rock Auto and it had the wrong disc in the kit. They did not care that it was wrong when I called them. Just send it back for refund of money. So I got OEM from Swedish Engineering in Michigan.

Good luck with your job.
