2004 S40 Deck Error and alignment problems

Post by amers »

My CD player died last week (deck error) it says. It seems to be when the shuffle mode is on... anybody else having this problem. The dealership is telling me now they have to replace the radio.

Also, I've had the alignment checked several times... constantly pulling to the driver's side. The dealer says they have to call Volvo because they can't access the area to fix it and they don't know what to do. What is that all about? What are my options if they can't get at the problem to fix it?

Have you found a solution? Mine does the same thing. Someone suggested replacing the fluid in the rack with a reconditioner and that a valve might be stuck there.

I recently purchased S40 with sport package (larger wheels and sport suspension). I too, am having alignment problems. The car seems to drift to the left. Also, when steering, I feel that I have to apply more pressure to turn right than I do when turning left. I have taken to the dealer twice, but still the problem exists. I will be taking to a specialty shop next and will post an update.

you turn the wheel all the way to the right before taking off does it pull to the right? vice versa? Mine does, but the primary default is left side pulling.
