Brake Shims and Radio Codes

Post by Ironbutt1345 »

OK, two things. I went to my local Volvo dealer for the first time today. I got the ant-squeal shims for the rear brakes ($16.00) and since I bought my car used, I got what I thought would be the correct radio code to reset the radio. The brake shims worked like a charm, not too bad of a job except for the good old Georgia heat and humidity! I then disconnected the battery cables to see if the radio code would work, and guess what? The unit says "EEEE" when I try to put it in. I'm now waiting with the ignition in position 1 to try again. The dealer gave me a 6 digit code, with the first two being zeros. Since there are no zeros on the radio, I ignored them and used the last four. Am I missing something? Is it possible for the dealer to have given me the wrong code? Any advice would be appreciated.

It is a four digit code. I think the key needs to be in position two.
