Ignition lock cylinder

Post by thobbs16 »

I have searched far and wide to find information on lock cylinders. I can't even seem to locate one to buy???? Everyone from auto salvage to online warehouses tell me the only way to acquire this part is from the dealer. I can't stand my Volvo dealer service department, and would like to replace the part myself. Is there any reliable and detailed information out there???
Or am I stuck paying the dealer $300 because the service technicians are the only people who have ever seen the shop manuals????
Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
