It's attached to the actual pedal with a plug in and a couple of bolts. the part i saw was $528.00 (us) and was the whole setup with pedal and everything. my Volvo popped generic code p2127 and displayed engine system service required light. car went into "safe mode"/ " limp mode" and limited my speed and rpm to 2-3k and basically 60mph. First real issue in the first 100k miles other than the alternator @ 73k miles. This has been an intermittent issue occurring twice and returning back to normal after parking and letting it sit over night. Still, there is something wrong.

Just a thought, this sounds like it might be the failing ETM that may be covered under extended (10 year / 200,000 miles) warranty, see the ETM forum here... https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... php?t=5694

the pedal position sensor is attached to the brake booster in the engine bay.

Replacing this sensor does not require software download by the dealer

For this issue mine wound up being the pedal sensor that the dealer nailed down and fixed.
I finally have pickup. Weird that it went after my belt snapped and I had it replaced along w. the ac comp/pulley....
