Hi folks! I sure could use some advice. I have spent $800 dollars starting with new Fuel Filter, had a Turbo leak fixed, the fuel system flushed, regular tune-up (plugs, etc.), and checked that it wasn't the MAF sensor. My car still wants to stall after first starting as well as hesitate--like it's choking. The engine has a slight shimmy to it. A guy at Auto Zone now says it is possibly the air throttle sensor. Could this be so? My mileage has been atrocious. It seems that the codes are never cleared. They previously has said: running lean, misfire cylinder 5, etc.
I just had the codes reread and they are EFI #s 442, 445, 446, 448.
Has anyone run into this problem. How difficult a job is it to have secondary air injection system malfunctions checked/much does it cost, generally.
I am going broke! And to boot, it seems nobody in Athens knows how to be honest OR fix a problem.
I'd like to be a little better educated. This is a repost.
Kind regards,
Zoe

Everything you posted points to a bad purge valve in the EVAP system or a bad wire to the purge valve. Changing the purge valve is pure cake. Finding a bad spot in a wire can be a real pain but it is easily fixed once the problem is found.
The SAS is a different story, it is a real pain in the wallet but it can be tricked and eliminated altogether subject to your local emissions testing requirements.
The removal of the SAS requires adding a diode across a couple of pins on the ECU to trick it into thinking that the SAS is really still there and working. Is your car a turbo or not? The ECUs are potentially different and the pins that you jumper are potentially different.
Here are a couple of threads regarding the SAS:
