2003 XC70 Drivers Door Window Off Track (?)

Hi,
Live in Albuquerque NM. Last week we were below 0 a few days and one cold morning the drivers window made a loud POP when I tried to roll it down for visibility at an intersection... the glass then tipped forward and dropped a few inches into the door.
When I raised it the motor ran but the glass didnt move. I pulled it up by hand while activating the motor and it closed.
Now when I open/close it there is the pop, it will lower/raise sometimes, other times it wont.

So - my questions are: What do you think it might be? How do I get the door panel off the look inside?

The car is "new" to me, so I havent had an opportunity for minor self-help maintenance.

Sounds like the glass disconnected from the bracket that holds it to the window track. The best thing to do is open up the door panel and take a look.
