stc-abs on right hand turns

Post by treybo »

First post so please forgive if its to wordy!

I have an S60 TS with 127,000 miles.
Tyre's are part worn on the inner edges but still legal.
After 10k miles of trouble free use, the car has just started to bring on the STC warning light some times followed by the abs service required light.
This only happens when taking right hand bends where the suspension is loaded, I can take left hand bends as hard as i like without a problem .
The STC light flashes then engine power reduces , this disappears if i lift off.
If I continue with taking the turn sharply the STC light comes on solid and the abs warning message and light comes on solid until I have switched off the engine and switch on again which clears the messages.
I do not think the STC - ABS is at fault but could this be the sway bar drop link at fault or some other problem?.
At the last MOT I had an advise that there was slight play in the steering rack .
:?

Check your wheel sensors, namely the socket and where the wire goes into the socket. I'd be willing to bet that's the culprit.

Doesn't sound like the module or an end link. That's a wiring problem.

look close at abs pick up rings on the ft axleshafts this rings crack at this age end disrupts the vech speed signal to the abs unit
if you find them cracked pop the axle out of the hub tap off old ring clean surface well and tap on new one with brass hammer

Thanks for the knowledge chaps I will have a look over the weekend.
I put my odb11 scanner on and it came up with code P0502 which reads as ABS Sensor low circuit.
does anyone have any pics of what i am looking for . I was told the sensor is hidden behind the brake disc?
