Want to swap out my HU-613 for another HU-613

My 2001 S60's speakers stopped working. The head unit powers on and the lights work but no sound from the radio or the CD player. I have to assume it's the amp which is integrated as part of the whole unit vs separate.

So, I thought the easy fix would be to purchase the same HU-613 radio out of the same model year. Ton's on ebay. When I called both of local Volvo dealers, they said the radios are "one and done", meaning they can't be moved from one car to another. They also said there wasn't any way to reprogram the radio to sync with the cars computer.

Given that hundreds of these radios are sold on ebay every year and none of the sellers are getting hit with "may radio doesn't work" bad feed back, I hate to think this but are the dealers service techs ill informed?

So what's the right anwer?

Just swapped one, worked fine. I hear some people have issues with the steering wheel controls not working but it works fine for me.

Swapped one last night... Only problem I had was the old one the display was busted and on the ebay one the buttons are not backlit, but the swap was easy, using you tube videos I found... Steering wheel controls work and all...

Swapped it out today. Worked like a charm with zero issues!!! Thanks for your input.
