Greetings,
I have a '99 V70 XC that intermittently idles poorly, and sometimes stalls.
The problem started when the car ran out of gas. after putting some gas in the tank, the car intermittently idles poorly and occasionally stalls. when it is idling poorly, there is no response when I step on the acceleration pedal. I replaced the spark plugs (all plugs were covered with black carbon). I also added seafoam additive and fuel injector cleaner, with no change with the problem. any help would be deeply appreciated.

Does it stall out while you are driving it or when it is idling in park or ???

thank you for your response.
The short answer would be yes. The problem manifest itself in all states; parked and driving.

Follow up:
I disconnected the connector for the Mass Airflow sensor. The car seems to be running OK (the "ETS" and "CHECK ENGINE" lights are on). My best guess is that there is an issue with the MAF sensor. I cleaned the Mass Airflow sensor using a Mass Airflow sensor spray cleaner purchased from Autozone. The car is running better, but races and surges intermittently. Any further input would be deeply appreciated.

I have been having the same problem with my '95 , 850 sedan. I replaced the MAS and it did not help it might even be worse because the engine idle varies, can sit and watch the tachometer move up a down. Going to Advanced auto tomorrow to see if they can put it on checker to see what else. I'm wondering no about fuel line or filter, mine started after letting gas get to almost empty also. Would also be interested in answers. Thank you
