Rims on 99 Volvo S70 Pros and Cons

Have anyone added rims on their 99 Volvo S70. What are the pros and cons of adding rims. Thanks

Rims? Can you clarify your question? Do you mean wheels of a different size then the stock wheels you have?

Well yes I guess. I wanted to buy some chrome rims, but I hear that they mess up the car driving. Meaning, more gas, not a stable with regular tire, Etc. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Most people change their rims only for better looks. Some high quality (end expensive) rims are made of special aluminum alloys which are lighter than stock ones, which provide better fuel economy and because they're well balanced, they don't cause issues while driving. Cheaper rims do the opposite, they're heavy which effects your fuel economy and performance in a negative way, and cause balance issues. Chrome plated rims are hard to look after. They are more sensitive to acids, get bad looking permanent black spots on them if you don't keep them nice and clean all the time. They look really nice though.

A lot goes into the solution while selecting wheels/tires combo. Keep it within your turn radius etc,. Go to tirerack.com to understand how upgrades are made with their formula....from 15", 16", 17", 18" or 19" for your model...and watch the tire sizes that will be required. Your ET or Offset will play an important role during the decision process. Keep it as close to factory as possible. Your factory wheels maybe 38 ET (back of the wheel), so no higher than 43mm. Your bolt pattern is 5 X 108.
