make sure your throttle body is closing completely if it's even open a little the IAC has a hard time compensating for it. The linkage has to be altered or you can grab the linkage off the donor car to make sure the plate is closing fully.
BTW I sell a custom hose that easily allows you to connect the larger NA TB to the stock intercooler piping. I also have TB's, 960 plates and NA intake manifolds in stock although they're aren't listed yet. I'm planning to put together bolt on kits for 93-97 Turbos.

Just found this post. Is this a considerably noticeable change?
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you.

Awesome! *Now looking for a 960 throttle body + plate*
I assume you have one? If I just put on a new throttle body gasket 1 month ago, can I re-use the same one?
or, should I order (more what I'm thinking)

It does not apply to turbo models, but I helped someone do it to a NA and there was a noticeable improvement around town.
You'd need to get a new gasket. And the throttle plate itself will just swap out.

Plate, idle linkage, and sensor all will?

Not sure. I don't think so, as the RWD engine is mounted in the opposite direction - I would think the linkage is different.
Just the plate is all that you need to change.

Just out of curiosity. Why would Volvo have this "feature" if it limited the acceleration?

Just my guess/opinion here. You are not increasing performance in any way by doing this modification. All you are doing is changing how far you have to push down the pedal to open up the throttle a given amount. So after the mod, if you're accelerating more, it's exactly what you could have done by flooring it. You just feel like the engine is more responsive because you feel like you're not giving it much gas. But you are.
