S70 doesnt run with airflow meter plugged in..??

Hi guys. I have a 98 S70 2.oL turbo. Got it for really cheap. I am a self employed mechanic. When I got it, it was a real mess.
I only payed $800NZ for it. So far I have done the LH top strut mount , PCV valve and hoses and the HT leads.
It runs like a dream now, compared to what it was. It does run with the airflow meter plugged in, but only when cold.
When the motor warms up, it wont even start. Unplug the airflow meter and its all good. Does hessitate a bit when gunning it, but it drives fine normally.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I think you just answered your own question: it is a bad MAF.

Use only Bosch or Volvo MAF, about US$170 online.
