98 v70 cam seal r&r now no start

Since you already checked the rotor side and the sensor side, I have no idea why it does not start.

Double-check all vacuum lines, electrical connections.

A theory: you might have damaged the sensor while cleaning it.

Was the MAF plugged in.

Best is to take a few pics of your current condition, maybe some sharp eyes here can diagnose it for you. Without a few pics, hard to tell.

Installed code from a friend of mine. Code reads p1617. Went to chart, p1617& p1618 shows same but when topic page is opened specifies for p1618 as trans scensor. This does not make sense as to not being able to start after seal replacement . I have checked all wire connections as advised an pins are clean have factory lube on them. Gee thought i was on go with this code reader , but stumped again. Any logical answer would be appreciated

Did you check the ignition wire, the single wire that runs from the ignition coil to the distributor cap?
Very easy to overlook this baby.

p1617 is the code the scanner gives
