You can see the top plate in the picture above my posts. If you contact the plate or the holes you will be fine. Just use the hammer to drive it to unscrew.

Filter still there. I am going to order that special tool in the video. I called around and cannot find it locally. I might try one more time tomorrow.

Another option is to ask your local indy shops if they have the special tool that you can borrow.
Just put down a deposit, borrow it, then return it and get your deposit back.

No shops have the tool. I ordered it from Bogert avaition with $$ 2 day shipping.

I finally removed my oil filter. I ordered that special tool from Bogert Aviation. The pins bent on the first try, so I replaced them with some thicker screws. That did the trick.

If anyone needs to borrow this tool after reading this thread, send me a message and I will overnight it to you (on your dime).
Do not overtighten your oil filter. God kills a kitten when you do this.

Thats awesome as a trick.
I use the fluted cup type oil filter wrench and have never had one stuck, but I hand tighten only, too.
