My 1997 850 T5, with 139,000 miles, started doing something weird a few days ago. I didn't start the car for a couple days, when I did start it, it ran real rough for a about 5 minutes & and the "REC" and "A/C" dash lights flashed in unison exactly 17 times. The next time I started the car, it ran smooth but the lights flashed again (17 times). Now, every time I start the car, they flash 17 times. Any idea what this could be?
Thanks for your help. Andy

You need to have the car's fault system codes read. Volvo dealer, independent Volvo mechanic, even some auto parts stores can do this. Tell them it's an OBDII standard interface. Call first to make sure they don't charge you for this.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

The arrow light is blinking and engine light is on. The car starts fine but when put into any forward gears, it hardly moves. It goes in reverse fine but not forward...the vehicle crawls. I've given it an ATF flush, since, this problem developed. It was working fine prior and fine just after (the same day of the flush). The next day is when this problem surfaced. Do you have any ideas?
