Trip computer temp sensor??? (95 854)

Okay...
I'm finally going to break down... I have been trying to figure out this trip computer temp sensor problem... A few months ago I had a new front fender installed and afterwards the trip comp's temp gauge's reading has been 'Lo'. I did some reasearch and figured out where I should look... found a wire. Just for the hell of it I checked the other side and found another 'twin' plug.
Does anyone have any experience with this particular connection? I have two theories:
1. I am an idiot and the plug is right in front of my face and I need someone to point it out for me........
2. The local dealer here that performed the swap of front fenders may have forgot to keep this sensor to install on the new body piece.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The sensor is attached to the front air dam underneath the front bumper. Its on the passenger side of the car. If you crawl underneath it is right at the end of the condenser.

I would think #2 in your post is most likely.

hmmm...
Called the dealer again today to try to get somewhere with this and tech I spoke to said the sensor would be located on the driver's side up to 6" back from the air dam, all the way to the wall, so to speak. I looked and looked and looked and didn't find anything. The only thing I found was a disconnected, two-prong style plug that was just hanging around behind the driver's headlight. I have no idea...

I'll go try to see if I can find it tomarrow morning with some sunlight. If #2 is the case, I will be kicking much ass and taking much names at the dealer since they've screwed up way too many times!!!!! I'm at my limit with these morons since they can't ever seem to get anything right. Unfortunately, the closest dealer otherwise is about a 60 min trip from where I am - and they're phenominal of course. The one here in town just seems to give me more problems every time the car is there.

It could be the garage has taken the sensor off while changing the fender and forgotten to replace it.

However, if the sensor is still in its proper position, it should be a relatively simple matter to locate it.

Stand in front of the car and look at the area between the RH grill and headlight. Then drop an imaginary perpendicular line from between the edge of the grill and the edge of the headlight.

Hop down onto your knees and look in the wide centre slot in the fender air dam. If the sensor is there, it should be sitting in a bracket up towards the top RH of the air dam slot.

If it isn't, then - as you are already on your knees - pray for a bit of patience when you take this annoying matter up with the garage.
