The passenger side wiper on my car is a little confused. Most of the time when I use the windshield wipers the passenger blade will stop higher then it's supposed to, partially blocking the view at the bottom of the windshield on that side, but every so often it will decide that it wants to be at the bottom properly but when it does so it basically slams at the bottom of its range making a loud thunk. I knew about this issue when I bought the car but it's starting to get annoying with the rainy season coming on. Anybody know how to fix this, I'd appreciate the help!

If you pry off the trim cap at the base of the wiper arm there is a nut that secures the arm to the wiper transmission. Loosen that nut (I think it is a 13mm) a couple of turns and then wiggle the wiper arm up until it comes free. From there re-orient it to the position that you like, tighten the nut back down, and put the trim cap back on.

Do what Lee suggested to verify if it was on tight. If you continue to have issues with it parking correctly you likely have a motor going bad.

After adjusting the blade (there are little white dots in the lower black portion of the wind screen to rest the blade on) , if the blades need replacement, get the new ones that have the spring metal inside them - less prone to skipping and cleans the water off better than OEM. Don't worry about the wind deflector on the driver's side, it isn't really needed with the low profile wipers.

The motor has nothing to do with it. It's a shaft/arm issue.
If re-aligning and snugging the nut fails, remove the arm and
clean the soft metal from the arm out of the splined shaft on
the drive spindle. An oil seal pick works well for this task.
Then re-align the arm and re-tighten the nut.
