Here again to ask your advice.
Yesterday the sun was shining and the spring was in the air, so I decided to change my winter tires for the summer ones, wash the car with my pressure washer and get rid of all the winter mud and salt.
Once the car was shining, I noticed some rust on the exhaust (Picture 1) then I went down on my knees and found what you see on Pictures 2,3,4,5.
Well, I thought, after 16 years (of which 15 slept outside in all sorts of climates) it seems the time came to replace at least the rear part of the silencer.
The car passed the yearly MOT inspection one month ago, which means all the parameters are still in the norm.
Now, since pictures speak more than words, and since I am planning to do the job myself, I'd like to know:
1) Level of difficulty, I guess removing is more difficult than setting up a new one.
2) Which silencer material is on the market? Aluminized steel, stainless steel? I live in Canada...snow, ice etc.
3) After-market, any brand you can suggest, I had a quick look and saw Bosal, Walker and more.
Any suggestion is most welcome!
Many thanks!
Alex
