It must have been the drain hose! Get a new one! It is going straight up and you will also find a holder for the hose fastened by two bolts. It is important that this tube is correctly assembled before putting the oil pan back. This drain hose is going to the crank house ventilation system.

Thanks for reply. I had called dealer parts and they do not have a clue nor do the parts book show this hose. Does it have a name? Also, are the two bolts for holder on inside of block or outside? This thing is keeping me awake at night.

These bolts are inside the block. I have not done this job myself, but I have been studying Haynes repairing manual, mentioning in several places how important it is to place this hose correctly. It seem by looking into pictures and reading the text carefully, that one of the fastening bolts for the hose holder is also holding the oilpump.
The hose is connected to the oiltrap placed outside the block.
Have a good sleep!
