Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Is your new upper mount polyurethane? That will sometimes transmit more vibration to the interior of the car.

No, I had it done at a Volvo dealer so I assume it's a factory authorized part.

Reviving and old thread.

Anyone have the writeup for the front and rear mounts? I have a lot of clunking and will likely change my upper torque mount, lower torque mount, and right mount, but I haven't seen anything here or Youtube for the two bushing style mounts.

I just replaced the upper engine mount in my 2002 S80 T6 with 103,000 miles with powerflex (http://powerflexusa.com/) polyurethane mount. Initially, I had more vibrations at idle. I then examine the mount and notice the arms of the bracket were squeezing the sides of the mount. I then installed additional washers at the 'axle' and made sure the mount did not touch the arms of the bracket. Voila! Car was smooth as baby's butt!

Look for the steps on how to do it for an 850. basically the same thing. I just changed my upper torque mount but I went with an assembly. got it from FCP Groton. if you go this route make sure the ground bolt hole is threaded.

did you replace the mount (large ring piece), arms and bushing? it looks like some people buy the mount with bushing included. Do the arms and mount fatigue? i think i've seen the 850 video - i'll watch that again.

Here's my mount. The bushing has broken up and fallen out. So, I'm wondering if I should get the polyurethane bushing, or "an assembly" (which i think would be the metal mount, arms and bushing).

I can't tell from my local dealer's site if part 24 is the whole assembly (which would look like just the metal mount, plus bushing) or just the bushing: http://www.jimellisvolvoparts.com/showA ... ly=1054369

If the entire assembly is only $50 that seems like the way to go.

Any thoughts?

The aluminum mount comes with bushing. Remove the bolt that connects the arms, 4 bolts that hold mount to engine, then remove bolt that holds the grounding strap. 15 minute job. make sure the mount you get has threads for the grounding strap bolt.
