Check out RSPi's YouTube channel! He has so much content you can build your own Volvo thanks to him.

Here's his axle replacement video which I have downloaded and saved to my tablet.

I figured out how to do my brakes because of his instructions.
I love this guy! (No homo)
Thank you Robert.

yea i got this junkyard called chuck and eddies i was actually gonna take a trip over there on monday and see what they got. I have been there before and they always got volvos, just not so many turbos, but with suspension that won't matter I am sure i can either find a car with the parts i need in decent shape in the yard or already picked and for sale. i will definitely go there and salvage a powerstage and the easy stuff ill need. And check out all the volvos and see what they have to offer, And go from there.

Yep all the suspension components are the same. Check with fcp just in case. Good luck.

I wanted to chime in and say I had good luck with Southern Vo-Vo. I called them Thursday and ordered a starter. They had several including one with about 100K miles from a '97 854 GLT and it arrived Friday afternoon, $55 including the shipping. Great price. Fast shipping! Nice!

First please try to use correct grammar and structure. It really helps understand you. Most of us here are older, not high school/college kids, that is what Volvospeed is for.

Personally I think, depending on the condition of the car itself (ie interior/exterior) $1200 is absolutely an excellent price, above what I would consider offering. If the interior and exterior are mint, you might even be able to push it a little bit higher. If it's someone like me, I'd push for a low amount but I'm not going to lose a car in good condition over a couple hundred bucks.

When people sell cars they put down how much it would cost to fix them, but fail to factor in your time. Example, you're probably talking 10-15 hours or more of personal labor to fix the stuff you want in addition to at least $1200 in parts, in addition to already having the assortment of tools and a place to do it at. This greatly lowers your target audience. To have a shop do it? Probably double your parts cost, and no one would be buying this car to have a shop fix it.

And you'd be up on the high end of what the car would sell for on Craigslist if not above it if you did the work even. The last Volvo I bought was posted for $1200 and I walked away with it for $250 - so try not to go by the posted asking prices - they are meaningless.

OK so as far as your car goes - you know what is wrong with it, funny noises, etc. Do a comp test and see what you get - are the numbers nice and high? Or low indicating a worn engine? Tranny shift smooth? You have to understand this car is 19 years old, you're not going to be able to just run the car without doing some parts replacing as it gets up there. Yes it has low mileage but age also wears on components such as rubber/plastics/metal (rust/metal fatigue)/electrical stuff (wires) etc.

Average retail at 138k is 1525. With work needed, it should sell under that.

ot high school/college kids, that is what Volvospeed is for.... Actually, this site is for anyone with a volvo no matter what age that needs info. And I am 28 years old. so dont go assuming, just because my grammer is crappy. Sometimes i just have so much to type and i type so fast that i forget to put periods, commas.. But im sorry if you couldnt understand it. I will try my best to display grammar to your likings. And thank you for your input. I think i am just gonna keep and it make it my hobby to get her back to stage 0 and have a nice family car that will last to 250k+ :)

@ abscate: I looked it up on kelly blue book and the prices defiantly went up since the last time that i looked. so $1,200 would be a steal. i bought it at 116k for $1,100 so that was good. I probably put $800 or a little more in the last 3 years. So if i do all this work i mentioned i think it will last another 5-10 years maybe who knows i dunno how long it takes to get from 138k to 250k but it took me 3 years from 116 to 138 so yea. It also sat all summer but now i dont even drive it that much so its the perfect time to start fixing her up. :)

The Kelly Blue Book prices are meaningless. NADA is based on real sales and thus reflects reality.

The use of correct grammar on this Forum is required, not requested, and we and thank you for your support.
