I have tried to find info on sc 810 bulbs. Do any of you folk out there know if these options mention on this thread might or can work. Also the toggle switches on the dash, the bulbs have gone out can these bulbs be replaced.

The write up is for the SC-815/816 made by Mitsubishi. Your radio is made by Alpine, so it's hard to know. I would say it's doubtful. Why don't you 0pen it up and take a picture of one of the bulbs?

Don't have any idea what the bulbs look like in yours or where to go and find them...that's why I was suggesting you snap a picture of them yourelf. This way maybe we can help you figure out where to get your replacements.

It would be nice to see if a bit larger. It seems those go in from the front. The 815/816 go in from the rear, but possibly you could take the ones form the 815/816 apart...and still use them in the mounting braket in yours. You might try taking one of them out and snapping a picture of just the bulb if you don't mind. I'll see if they're similar enough to what I'm familiar with. I even have a few extra bulbs from the 816. How many of yours aren't lighting up?

Thank you for the input. MIJ
Only two of the seven work, perhaps the best way is to go to an eletronics surplice store and scratch thru the stuff that they have, hopefully they might have something similar.
The holder is a two pin that is soldered into the back of the board , it appears that this bulb and holder is one unit.
I will try keep the forum posted of the success or failure of my searches.

If you can get the bulb out of the holder, I'd suggest picking up some bulbs from Radio Shack and soldering them in. That's what I've done on some of the other very small lights in switches in the car.

Or if it really bothers you, get an inexpensive SC-816 off of eBay...nice thing about this is it's a direct fit and has a CD player...AND the bulbs can be changed without desoldering and soldering. If you buy one, make sure it has the code.

The amount of time that I have spent trying to fix this is ridiculous, I think your best idea yet is via ebay. I suppose it woudl help to know the voltage of the bulbs
Thanks MIJ
