Does anyone know the part number for the fuel pump and the best place to purchase it?

The best way to do a fuel pump job on these cars is to read the DIYs then buy a Bosch 69693 fuel pump insert. It is usually cheapest from Amazon (use the Amazon link at the top of the page to give MVS a small kickback when you buy there), about $95 the last time I checked.

There are cheaper fuel pump alternatives, but I wouldn't go with an insert other than Bosch or Walbro and the Walbros are reportedly a bit noisy.

1+ to Bosch Fuel Pump, about $90-$100, and it will last you another 150K.

While there, make sure you go over these DIYs:

All of these parts look like the one I purchased and it has this hard plastic case around it. It wouldn't come out. It cost me 220.00. The pump insert I pulled out didn't have any casing around it. What to do you guys think? If I figure out to post a picture I will.

If you bought a preassembled pump in the white casing, then you are good to go. Just install it.

Read the "reviews" in the links below and you will know what to do. Basically minor modifications and that is all:

https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-69693-Origi ... B000BZJJEW

http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-f ... 70-s70-v70

---------------
Below is a DIY for Walbro but the idea is the same for Bosch:

http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/30 ... t-how-too/

http://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-850- ... 759/page2/

PS: Please post a few photos of your DIY for future reference.

I took off the black casing and it fit like a glove and it seems to work. Outside temp when I changed it was around 50. It was straight forward.
Thanks for all the help guys!~
