1996 850R Thermostat stuck open?

This is at 50 MPH steady cruise, been driving for 10+ miles. Temp needle goes closer to middle at low speeds and in traffic.

Bad MPG, average 18 MPG on 93 in mixed driving.

EDIT: I broke my boost gauge, yes the needle fell out. Maybe epoxy will work?

Get new thermostat and O-ring, search forum for the "stubborn" Torx bolts trick.

The ECT, recommended but not absolutely needed.
When it goes bad, the engine does not start when COLD (HOT is OK).
For $50, I guess you can replace the ECT, peace of mind.

Whoops, ECT. Thanks for the tips, I've got the OE blue box T-Stat and o-ring.
