1. ABS Module: some people here re-soldered it themselves. I tried that but unsuccessfully, so I used BBA-reman dot com and they rebuilt my ABS Module for $60. They are based in Massachusetts.

2. PCV: since the car is old with 150K+, I modified the vent pipe using 5/8-inch heater hose. It is now 1.5 years later, so far so good. I just checked yesterday: no more smoking dipstick. Car runs perfectly with this modification:

3. Purge Valve. I tried the ghetto trick but didn't work, so I bought a brand-new Bosch Purge Valve for $45. So far so good 1.5 years later. See the photo I posted in the thread below:

4. The Trans Cooler Line Clip: I re-use the clip (note it has a thick and thinner side!) and apply a screw-type clamp, which in my opinion is better than zip tie. I learned this the hard way: metal clip worked itself loose, I lost most of ATF on a night with freezing rain. Scary! Re-installed the metal clip with screw-type clamp, all is good now. I also rebuilt the cooler lines using generic rubber hoses for $10 (instead of $200): so far so good 1.5 years later, no ATF leak whatsoever. Detail below including the metal clip + clamp:

1)ABS Fault was from a disconnected front right sensor believe it or not! Just goes to show you that working on your own car is better than taking it to a sloppy mechanic.
2)THE PCV doesn't smoke at all though so I'm hesitant on changing anything, I will try to squeze the Oetiker Clamp further.
3)I cleaned the purge valve with Carb Cleaner and WD40, so far so good, no code. If it appears, I will get a new valve but it seems to have fixed the problem.
4)Interesting write up, I don't see any major leaks but I think my lines "sweat" a bit of fluid as the exterior of the cooler is wet. I put zip ties for now but I think I should do this rebuild.

Thanks

You should clean the top of the motor real good. Drive one day then check it again. No need to put the plastic cover on it. Then look real close to see if the oil is coming off the tube or cap. If off the cap, your cap tabs (or cover receiver) may be worn and a new cap may be in order. If the PCV tube is leaking, you should be able to tighten the clamp. You will need a tool to tighten it.
The hose connects to a rigid black line that runs across the intake manifold.

Can I bend the tabs on the oil filler cap? Thanks

The oil filler cap SEAL is so cheap (a few $ at dealer), this may be your problem.

I tackled the upper torque mount. Being an Engineer I desgined and had a machine shop make me a press. The 'right' press puts load on the outer ring of the mount, the 'left' press pushes aganinst the assembly.

It took me way too long because there was a post that said a 3/8" bolt is acceptable. Trust me, don't use a 3/8" bolt!!, it will strip and cause you lots of grief, I tried it twice. I spent hours taking apart the stripped bolt. I used a Canadian Made (not Chinese crap) M12 bolt and it worked perfectly the first time. Make sure you lubricate the opening and it helps to lubricate the threads on the press.

I also changed the transmission fluid. Big difference in performance and shift quality! Really, I was surprised.

Now onto fixing the squeaking dash, any advice. I'd rather not pull the whole dash.

Just make sure you don't have head pressure. The tabs may bend but I felt better just replacing the cap.

If you search a little you will see some red neck fixes to the dash problem. I pulled the one from my daughters car and braced the tabs.

No special tool needed rspi, just need to be resourceful...I got my tile cutters, put a piece of duct tape on them to blunt the edge and I tightened the Oetiker clamp. Awaiting results.........
