Bad battery symptoms. How old is the battery? If the battery has a few bad cells, the good cells can give off a 12+ volt reading, but not enough good cells will cause the dead start issue. Take the battery to have it tested.

Not the battery, or at least not just the battery. Cleaned the battery clamps & swapped in a known good battery from my 240. No change. Haven't been able to test the ignition switch yet.

How does one go about testing the ground? Is there only one ground point, or are there multiple grounds that have to be checked?

Edit: Missed Ozark Lee's post, so I haven't checked that yet either... Will do.

Multiple grounds and they are a known fail point on older cars. Scour the web for a wiring diagram and track down the grounds, clean, rebolt
