Hi everyone, I am experiencing some fan noise. This seems to happen when the fan is moved past the half way mark all the way up to full. It is worse when I'm moving. The weird thing is: the noise goes away when I open the passenger door.
This makes me think I have something stuck in the air duct going to the door vent. Or is this something else? Also, when I am passed on the road I hear an increase in this noise. I will attach a video of the sound. I took this video parked - the noise is even worse when driving.
I cleaned out any debris from the vents under the hood - the grates on the cowl. That didn't change anything.

Any ideas? I am new to this generation of cars. Is this a common problem?

Is there an air duct that goes inside the door? There might be an air duct that got disconnected under the dash.

Update on the C30. It turns out the seal around the windshield was bad and that was causing the noise when the fan was turned up to full. It got very annoying during winter. At my last service (20,000 miles) my local Volvo dealer replaced the windshield and seal for free. Seems to be all better now.
Thank you for the help!
