2001 v70 2.4T SLOW Mean Green build

Post by metalslug »

So I just bought a 2001 as stated. Mechanically she checks out fine but has some issues as one would expect, but I would like some help on certain issues. I will list the following I need help with followed by the planned mods/upgrades.

1. ride is rough, needs new suspension, what do you guys recommend. I need new end links and other components and shocks. Should I go OE or is there a better aftermarket product?
2. Would 17 inch OE pegs fit with any issues?

Planned mods/upgrades

1.Stage zero almost done
2.ecu maybe ARD for a bit more HP. Or are there any other tuners I should look into.
3.I want a more throaty exhaust any suggestions?
4. Center console upgrade
5. Interior seating upgrade

Thanks for the look any help would be greatly appreciated.

Change everything in suspension, including springs, both front and rear. Stick with reputable brands, like Sachs, Boge, Lemfoerder. This kit is a good guidance: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... ullfrearly but I would replace Meyle and Karlin by OEM. I bought a kit with Meyle struts and sway bar links, struts died in just 6 months, links lasted only 1.5 years. People say HD version is better, but I was happy to replace struts with Sachs (OEM) and links with Lemfoerder.

Lucky 01-04 users may have this 2din stereo installed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Din-Car-DVD-P ... 20e408947e

I like that 2 din, I will also start to look into those brands. Also what do you suggest for exhaust to get a bit better sound? I will be getting an ecu upgrade so maybe a full exhaust may be in order. But hich sound best? And would 06 R pegs fit ok?
Again thanks for all the advice so far.

IPDusa.com is a good place to start shopping,
as for the 17 pegs they will fit your car no problem only thing might have is a stupid rubbing on tight turns which most s60-v70 have with bigger wheel size

as for the exhaust, i'm guessing its automatic so would not recommend as you might end up with louder exhaust but nasty sound as you will not be able to control it especially on a freeway

Thanks again, I figured also besides the sound if I upped the HP I may want to have an exhaust for better flow.
Good to know about the pegs, the rub wont bother me much as I travel 99% highway.

If you fit 17 Pegs then you'll undo anything you do to help harsh ride.
