1995 Volvo 850 GLT Transmission

This is second time my son's 1995 850 GLT Volvo transmission has "slipped into Winter mode". I cannot get it to switch back - push button on the center console is unresponsive.

Had this repaired once before (within last 18 months). Would like to better understand what is going on to ensure the problem is appropriately addressed. Appreciate all insights.

Try rowing the selector back and forth several times, that may or may not fix it.
Probably your PNP switch has failed (park-neutral switch)
