Clock/Temp display '02 S60 2.4T

Post by Madrona »

The LED clock/temp is out on my S60. By looking very close in the day light I can see the display is accually working, however the light in the LED appears to be burned out. I do not know if there is a bulb in the LED?? How do I repair/replace clock/temp diplay? Thanks

The good news: Fortunately for you the instrument panel on your car is one of the easiest to get out:

The bad news: Now after you get the instrument panel out, I'm not sure what you have to do to get to the bulbs. I would turn it over and see if there is easy access. Unfortunately I can't find any diagrams or how-to's beyond the above for your car. If it's not easy access, be careful...might be best to leave it alone. The instrument panel in your car is much more than it appears to be...it's basically the information center for your entire car. You mess it up and you'll be buying a new one along with a software download to make it work with your car.

To get the trim surround out first, put the steering wheel all the way down and towards you. Pull the speedo surround out, just rip and tear!! :-). Actually it comes out real easy. Then remove the 4 torx screws holding the speedo cluster in place, pull it forward and remove the electrical plug, also easy. You will find all the bulbs held in small socket holders that take a quarter turn to remove. Find the on that is gone and buy new from dealer. I have heard they are outrageously expensive, ($15.00 each?) and reverse procedure.

They are not specific to your car. You can swap from other cars that are not even the same year or model. (I.E '02 S80 to '03 V70).No reprogramming required.
