2000 V70R - Obsolete parts help - Vent pipe, C clip

I have removed the rear sub-frame to replace it (as regulars will know), and I am in the process of "While you are in there...." as I have no wish to drop this again.

I have found 2 parts so far that are listed as obsolete/not-available by Volvo and anyone else I have contacted, so I am putting out a plea for help!

2 parts are:

1) Vent pipe: Volvo part # 9445494. This runs from the top rear left of the tank to the lower connector of the smaller header tank

: Fuel tank complete

For orientation. Top right of picture is rear LH of tank. Closest to you in picture is front of tank

: Vent pipe (1) from top of LH rear of tank

Pipe is the one with the rubber end piece to top of the tank.

: Vent pipe (2)

The pipe runs across the top of the rear of the tank and is the larger of the 2 GREEN pipes in the middle of the above picture.

: Vent pipe (3)

The end of the pipe is the large rubber ended pipe with the YELLOW/GREEN tape on it.

I may have to leave it but the rubber ends are looking tired and these cannot be bought either. I have thought about replacing the heavily corroded clamps, but am worried it may damage the rubber replacing them.

2) Part # 1387247 - Clip. This is the ''C' clip that holds the parking brake cable into the rear of the hub. Again can't find anyone who has any stock. Lots list it but have it. I have contacted Volvo to see if I can get OE manufacture details to see if I can get some made but Volvo ignored my request as normal.

Any clues/suggestions appreciated, no matter where in the world! I have an obsolete bolt kit currently on the way to family in Scotland (I'm visiting in a couple of weeks) from Sweden, so where it is may be expensive to ship, but not having one is worse!

Hey.

I've been searching for them in Norway as well, and come up empty, I'm afraid.

That said, there's a scrapyard just a couple of miles down the road from me, and I know they've got a couple of good Volvos sitting there. I can shoot them an email or call them tomorrow, if you're at all interested in used parts. Would probably take them a couple of days, since they do all the picking themselves.

Thanks S. I have tried many places around the world advertising the part number but none so fay have actually been able to get the parts.

There is a Company in UAE called GForce, and if you look up the part they list it as available in the US. Not sure how many as they have the infinite symbol, and I haven't been able to translate what that means. I am wary using them as their alternate language is Russian!

If I can find a way to contact them, I will try to see if the part really exists and if they have a supplier customer in North America or Europe. They only seem to deal in bulk orders ($5000/month and up).

For the vent hose (9445494), I wonder if you can use generic fuel hose (appropriate diameter etc.).

These guys list the vent pipe as available and let me add it to the cart. They are in Watertown Connecticut.

I'll try, but I have done that with several suppliers, and when it comes to ship they can't get the part. Just because they list it doesn't mean they have it. But thanks for the lead and I'll try it anyway.

Now I remember why I don't use them. For some reason when I try to buy something from them they ask you to have a minimum order value of $99999.00 US, yet they offer international shipping.

I've e-mailed them to explain their weird order system.

Finally got a reply from the local scrapyard. They've got a couple of good V70s, but they'll only sell the tank as a whole, for some reason. They ignored my question about the clips - I'll bug them about it.

Many thanks 'S'. Appreciate you checking for me. Our local Pick and pull had 3 V70 XC P80's until I went down and they had crushed them that day. Not just one but ALL three!

I'll keep looking out. I know the clip is also listed for some 940/960s I think. Once I can get my laptop set up again (house renovations going on) I'll check and see what else may have them and list them.

I checked the web company that I had suggested for me in the US for the vent pipe and they wouldn't ship to Canada. I actually phoned them and they said they had one in stock. I had to phone my brother in California at his work and he placed the order within an hour, and now they say they don't have it. ASS's!

So the hunt goes on. I may still have to try and replace the rusted clips and risk damaging the rubber. IT will be a case of taking it careful.
